SIB 61 19 12: Equipment inspection

Equipment inspection on BMW E82/E88 models (2011); BMW gives an inspection and repair procedure.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10149448 · Feb 2013 · also written SI B61 19 12, B611912

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

ActiveE: Charging Contact Protective Sleeve. During the performance of the scheduled 3 months/5,000 miles service (Vehicle Check), it may be determined that some of the contact protective sleeves in the charging socket are missing (see page 13 of attachment #4 from SI B00 08 11).
