SIB 64 01 25: Engine humming noise

Engine humming noise on BMW G01/G02/G20/G29 and other models (2023–2024); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 11014665 · Feb 2025 · also written SI B64 01 25, B640125

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

The customer may hear an intermittent “humming” or “foghorn” type sound in vehicle. It sounds like a lowhum that last for only a few seconds.
