SIB 64 03 26: Humming noise
Humming noise on Electric engines (2025); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 11032742 · May 2026 · also written SI B64 03 26, B640326
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
After starting up the vehicle, a distinct, constant, “humming” noise can be heard from the right area of the instrument panel.

Before you pay, check the VIN for recalls. Some failures are covered by a safety recall or a BMW warranty extension.
