Software fault codes on BMW E70/E71 models (2009–2010); BMW gives an inspection and repair procedure.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10037077 · Sep 2010 · also written SI B66 09 10, B660910

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

After starting the vehicle there is a check control message that says the high beam assist faulty. The funciton cannot be activated until after driving for 5 minutes.
