SIB 72 09 06: Emergency call system fault codes

Emergency call system fault codes on BMW E46/E90/E91/E92 and other models (2006); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10020030 · Apr 2006 · also written SI B72 09 06, B720906

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

The red airbag warning lamp (awl) in the instrument cluster is illuminated and fault code 93EB emergency call function is stored in the MRS5 (multiple restraint system) control module.
