SIB 72 10 06: Airbag warning message

Airbag warning message on BMW E46/E90/E91/E92 and other models (2006); BMW gives an inspection and repair procedure.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10020032 · Apr 2006 · also written SI B72 10 06, B721006

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Red airbag warning lamp (awl) in the instrument cluster remains illuminated after turning on KL-15 and completing the self-check, but goes out again if the key is cycled off/on.
