NHTSA 10040368: Fuel pump no-start

Fuel pump no-start on BMW E60/E61/E65/E66 and other models (2007–2010); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10040368 · Dec 2010

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

BMW service campaign: There may be a problem with the fuel pump which could not meet emissions requirements. There may be a long crank and a service engine soon light.
