NHTSA 10058976: Thermostat check engine light

Thermostat check engine light on BMW F10 models (2011–2012); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10058976 · Aug 2015

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Faulty codes in the DME for the engine thermostat activates the service engine soon light.
