BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10179748 · Aug 2020 · also written SI B09 02 18, B090218

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

NEW ECU VALIDATION NEEDED AFTER REPLACING CERTAIN CONTROL MODULES: With introduction of the new Headunit HU-H3 (MGU Media Graphics Unit), there is a new protection mechanism against tampering.
