SIB 09 03 21: Software

Software on BMW G01/G02/G05/G06 and other models (2016–2021); BMW released a software update.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10214254 · Feb 2022 · also written SI B09 03 21, B090321

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

In some rare cases a customer vehicle might be excluded from one or more Remote Software Upgrade(RSU) campaigns. This SIB gives an overview how to identify these vehicles and how to proceed in case of a customer complaint.
