BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10044290 · May 2012 · also written SI B11 05 12, B110512

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Service engine soon light comes on. Engine breather line (crankcase ventilation hose) failed, causing vehicle to run rough. This is due to plastic material used for crankcase ventilation hose becomes brittle and break.
