What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT IS ON WITH PT-CAN FAULTS STORED . The Service engine soon light (MIL) is on and the transmission may go into failsafe. The problem may be intermittent along with any of the following check control messages displayed or stored.
