SIB 12 10 16: Misfire service information

Misfire service information on N63 engines (2009–2014); BMW shared service information.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10147532 · Jul 2016 · also written SI B12 10 16, B121016

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

""Drivetrain Malfunction"" message displayed with reduced engine power. Erroneous misfire faults may be stored for cylinders 3 and 6. Cycling ignition off and back on again clears the ""Drivetrain Malfunction"" warning DME software (plausibility check error)."
