SIB 12 17 12: Transmission service information

Transmission service information on BMW E60/E70/E71/F07 and other models (2007–2014); BMW released a software update.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10150068 · Jun 2013 · also written SI B12 17 12, B121712

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

A customer may complain of a delay in engine response after decelerating at low road speeds and then reaccelerating. This can occur when the transmission remains in a high gear due to a delay in the transmission downshifting.
