SIB 12 20 14: Wiring harness service information
Wiring harness service information on B38 engines (2014–2015); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10148019 · Sep 2014 · also written SI B12 20 14, B122014
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
Service Action: Drive Module Harness Edge Protection. The wiring harness for the drive module (rear engine compartment) is routed in close proximity to the ISOFIX reinforcement bracket. During unfavorable conditions, the harness may rub against the bracket.
