What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
i8 - Insufficient Fuel Tank Refilling Recognition. After vehicle runs out of fuel (fuel tank completely empty), refilling by a small volume of gasoline (less than 1.5 gallon) is not sufficient to start the combustion engine. The DME does not recognize small increments of refueling.
