SIB 28 02 10: Transmission software update

Transmission software update on BMW E82/E88/E89/E90 and other models (2010–2011); BMW released a software update.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10037922 · Dec 2010 · also written SI B28 02 10, B280210

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Double clutch transmission is enterring emergency mode and some gears can't be selected. This is a software problem.
