SIB 32 03 20: Steering fault codes
Steering fault codes on BMW G05/G06/G07/G11 and other models (2016–2021); BMW gives diagnosis and repair guidance.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10181219 · Sep 2020 · also written SI B32 03 20, B320320
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
FAILURE OF THE ELECTRIC STEERING COLUMN ADJUSTMENT AT HIGHER CABIN TEMPERATURE: Electric steering column adjustment fails when interior cabin temperatures rise above 122 degrees F (e.g., parked outdoors on hot day). Faulty self-diagnosis of the steering column control unit.
