SIB 35 01 15: SUBJECT Brake Pedal Cover Falls Off

SUBJECT Brake Pedal Cover Falls Off on BMW F48 models (2016–2017); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10151097 · Feb 2016 · also written SI B35 01 15, B350115

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

SUBJECT Brake Pedal Cover Falls Off. The brake pedal cover can come off of the brake pedal CAUSE The geometric shape of the brake pedal tread plate and pedal cover do not match exactly. This can cause the pedal cover to detach.
