SIB 51 08 22: Noise service information
Noise service information on BMW G20/G21/E46/E90 and other models (2006–2023); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10218369 · Jun 2022 · also written SI B51 08 22, B510822
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
Whistling noise is heard coming from the front bumper while driving at highway speeds.
