SIB 51 25 12: Transmission service information

Transmission service information on BMW E82/E88 models (2008–2010); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10045285 · Jul 2012 · also written SI B51 25 12, B512512

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Water penetrates the passenger compartment due to openings in service transmission tunnel with insufficient sealing, causing carpet to be wet in center tunnel area.
