BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10184577 · Nov 2020 · also written SI B51 27 20, B512720
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
FUEL FILLER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN: The fuel filler door (aka flap) will not open. In rare cases, if the vehicle is locked using the remote control key and the fuel filler door is pushed closed simultaneously, the fuel door can enter a locked state that cannot be unlocked.
