SIB 51 33 12: Tailgate noise

Tailgate noise on BMW E84 models (2012–2013); BMW shared service information.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10150379 · Dec 2012 · also written SI B51 33 12, B513312

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Instrument Cluster Warning Displays Picture of Tailgate Open. The ""Tailgate open"" icon is displayed even though the tailgate is closed. The display icon may also illuminate when the engine is started. CAUSE The noise suppression filter for the aerial is faulty.
