Convertible top inspection on BMW I12/I15 models (2018–2019); BMW gives an inspection and repair procedure.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10149534 · Oct 2018 · also written SI B54 06 18, B540618

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

SERVICE ACTION: CHECKING AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACING CONVERTIBLE TOP LOCKING BASE PLATE. The knurled bolts on the convertible top locking base plates may not have been installed correctly on the cowl panel. The knurled bolts may not have been pressed completely into the base plate.
