SIB 61 07 13: Battery corrosion

Battery corrosion on BMW E90/E92/E93/F30 and other models (2011–2013); BMW gives an inspection and repair procedure.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10150228 · Aug 2013 · also written SI B61 07 13, B610713

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Service Action: Repair Corrosion Protection on the Trunk B+ Connector. The corrosion protection on the outside of the trunk (back of rear right-hand wheel arch) around the battery positive connector is insufficient, and leads to corrosion on the body.
