Instrument cluster failure on BMW F44 models (2020–2021); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10181232 · Sep 2020 · also written SI B62 02 20, B620220

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

SERVICE ACTION - PROGRAM THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER: The Instrument Cluster needle illumination can occasionally fail in the event of a long-term power overload.
