SIB 65 08 24: Telematics unit service campaign

Telematics unit service campaign on BMW I20 models (2023–2024); BMW released a software update.

BMW service campaign · NHTSA ID 11000530 · May 2024 · also written SI B65 08 24, B650824

What it covers

A service campaign is a fix BMW performs free on affected cars. Ask a BMW center whether it is open on your VIN.

After installing software I020-24-03-500 or higher, the head unit incorrectly assumes that the telematics module is off-line or not installed. This causes the head unit to ignore GPS positioning data.
