SIB 51 24 22: Door failure
Door failure on BMW I20 models (2022–2023); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10230731 · Dec 2022 · also written SI B51 24 22, B512422
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
The tailgate sporadically fails to open when signaled via the interior button (driver's door panel) or the key fob.
