SIB 61 27 22: Tailgate service information
Tailgate service information on BMW I20 models (2022); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10228437 · Nov 2022 · also written SI B61 27 22, B612722
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
The function of the two-button logic (first press for vehicle unlock, second press opens tailgate) is not available and cannot be activated. Two-button logic is a vehicle key feature intended to prevent unintentional operation of the tailgate.
