What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
SERVICE ACTION: PROGRAM OR REPLACE DUAL STORAGE SYSTEM BATTERY: A software error intermittently causes a continuous resetting of the microcontroller in the power management system. This causes the red Check Control Message (CCM) "Replace Battery" to be illuminated.
