SIB 66 15 19: Steering warning message

Steering warning message on BMW G01/G02/G05/G06 and other models (2015–2022); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10211809 · Mar 2022 · also written SI B66 15 19, B661519

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

The steering intervention for Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is too strong (severe), which can create an uncomfortable feeling for the driver. Background: Steering intervention helps keep the vehicle in the lane if the system detects that a lane marking has been crossed.
