SIB 84 09 22: Telematics unit service information

Telematics unit service information on BMW I01/I12/I15 models (2018–2021); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10225129 · Sep 2022 · also written SI B84 09 22, B840922

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Due to a production error, the telematics control units were delivered without an IMS configuration.

Before you pay, check the VIN for recalls. Some failures are covered by a safety recall or a BMW warranty extension.
