Symptoms

- Rough running or a no-start after the crank hub slips
Which cars are affected
2015–2020 F80 M3, F82/F83 M4 and 2019–2021 F87 M2 Competition and M2 CS with the S55. Most owners do it as a preventive upgrade, especially on tuned cars.
The factory crank hub is held by friction, so a hub that slips knocks the timing out. The fix replaces it with a pinned, keyed or one-piece hub. Prices differ by hub design (Vargas, SSR/MaximumPSI 4-pin, CarBahn drilled and pinned) and by whether oil, coolant, plugs and new bolts are included.
